What User Permission Levels Are Available on Estimo?

Estimo currently has a fixed workflow, with a set of default groups. Throughout the development of Estimo, we tried many different workflows before arriving at this model. We believe that it is the most effective.

The following user groups exist, in order of power:

  • Owner
  • Admin
  • Reviewer
  • Creator

Owner

  • A user with Owner permissions has the ability to access all areas within an Estimo instance.
  • The first user of an Estimo instance is created as an Owner. Each instance must always have at least one Owner at all time, but the first user does not need to remain an Owner.
  • An unlimited number of users can be assigned Owner credentials, by other users with Owner permissions.
  • The key difference between an Owner and an Admin is that an Owner can manage the Billing area, an Admin cannot.

Admin

  • A user with Admin permissions has the ability to access all areas within an Estimo instance, except for the Billing functionality.
  • An unlimited number of users can be assigned Admin credentials, by other users with Owner or Admin permissions.
  • If an Admin wishes to exceed an Estimo instance’s current user limit then they are able to request that an Owner performs a subscription upgrade.

Reviewer

  • A user with Reviewer permissions has the ability to mark estimates as Reviewed, enabling other users to download the PDF output.
  • It is advisable to assign the Reviewer permission level to senior members of staff in your organisation, so that quality assurance can be carried out on estimates produced by Creators, before they are sent to clients.
  • A user with Reviewer permissions does not have the ability to manage the Settings interface.
  • An unlimited number of users can be assigned Reviewer credentials, by other users with Owner or Admin permissions.

Creator

  • A user with Creator permissions has the ability to create estimates and manage clients. For a Creator to download the PDF output of an estimate, they must invite a Reviewer to mark the estimate as Reviewed.
  • A user with Creator permissions does not have the ability to manage the Settings interface.
  • An unlimited number of users can be assigned Creator credentials, by other users with Owner or Admin permissions.
